First Steps

As with any new project, Greenhouse Servers is exciting and more than a little daunting. After all, how often do you get to tell people that you’re changing the world?

The funny thing is, this is one of those cases where it’s not an exaggeration. I can’t think of another project where I’ve been so passionate about seeing it succeed. In the era where global warming is recognized and starvation still exists, any project that tackles both energy management and food production is a game changer.

We’ve done all of the mundane and necessary things that every startup business needs, such as writing our business plan, generating a budget, communicating with government and greenhouse personnel who will be key to the physical existence of a business, and testing of the system. We’ve taken the first step to pursue funding through the crowd-sourcing platform, IndieGoGo.com.

From here we begin the arduous process of funding the business. The cost to make this happen is peanuts compared to some business ventures, but it still requires capital. We’re also on a fairly strict timeline because climate at our Canadian operations dictate we can only build for a restricted part of the year. Therefore in order to make this fly, we’ve got to take off like a rocket.

The preliminary feedback has been positive; however, this is such a unique business model that not everyone “gets” it, which adds a layer of challenge to the enterprise.

Challenge is always a part of business. So is overcoming challenge after challenge. Please follow our page; I’ll provide progress notes as we step through the process of taking Greenhouse Servers from a radical idea to a radical company!
